ABOUT US
Radio Broadgreen is a registered charity (Charity Number: 508557) and as such relies on donations from the general public to survive.
Radio Broadgreen began in the early 1980's after the success of other hospital radio stations in Liverpool, such as Radio Newsham, Radio Royal and Sunshine Radio.
When the opportunity arose to broadcast from both Radio Newsham and the newly created Radio Broadgreen, Radio Newsham was renamed to Liverpool Hospital Broadcasting Service to reflect the fact that Liverpool Hospital Broadcasting Service had 2 stations broadcasting under its wing.
When the need to cut costs forced the closure of Radio Newsham, Radio Broadgreen was left as the only member of the Liverpool Hospital Broadcasting Service.
After the closure of both Radio Royal and Sunshine Radio, Radio Broadgreen was left as the only hospital radio station in Liverpool and still is to this day.
